Battery saving tips and tricks for your smartphone


Most smartphone nowadays comes with powerful batteries that lasts for hours, bearing this in mind some smartphone users still find it difficult to charge their phones due to one reason or the other. This write-up will show you how you can manage your smartphone batteries for get added extra hours of use. 

i. You can adjust your phones screen timeout, long screen timeout consumes more battery.  Lock your screen immediately after use.

ii. Try to avoid poor signal areas as this triggers the phone to boost its signal strength thereby consuming more battery.

iii. Watch the apps you download as poorly coded or designed apps most often consumes more battery than necessary. It is advised you download apps from popular apps developers rather than a single man app developer because popular apps developers considers your battery consumption before developing apps.

iv. Always close apps when not in use. Make sure you close all apps that you don't use before locking your phone screen or putting it on standby.

v. Be smart about the type of notification you use. if you are the type that receives a lot of notifications and phone calls, i'll advise you switch of vibration settings as this will save you extra battery life.

vi. When not downloading, its better to switch to 2G network rather than using 3G network

vii. If you are out of network coverage area, its better to switch to offline mode because your phone will continuously try to establish network and this process drains your battery, switch to offline mode.

viii. Turn-off location services as location services often transmit or receive a signal to identify your current location. This process can consume considerable battery power. If you don't really need or use these services, disable them or turn them off.

ix. Reduce your screen brightness as this lowers battery usage alot. This is also good for your eye as to much brightness affects the eye.

xi. Remember to turn-off your camera flash during the day, smartphone users often neglect this feature and its a very powerful battery saver.

xii. Turn of your bluetooth and WIFI when not in use. Wifi mostly consumes battery, so when not in use, switch if off.

xiii. Switch off your phone before removing the battery, some phone users are careless to the extent of removing a phone battery without switching it off, this is wrong as its negatively affects your battery and phone.
