Some great features introduced in the new IOS 9 you might not know

Apple recently released its IOS 9 operating system, however, during the unveiling the company did not really go into details of some great features it has added to its new operating system. I will be taking you through some of this amazing features to ensure you take full advantage of this new IOS upgrade.

i. Android migration App

Apple has introduced a new app in the IOS 9 upgrade called 'Move to iOS', which makes it easier for Android users to switch to iPhone.

This new app will transfer your message history, contacts, camera photos and videos, calendars, web bookmarks, wallpaper, email accounts and DRM-free songs and books, as well as suggest you download any free apps you had and will also add paid apps to your iTunes Wish List wirelessly.

I am very sure Google will not be pleased with this, but lets just await Google's response.

ii Newly introduced 6 digit passcodes

The new operating system will request from you a 6-digit Passcode rather than a 4-digit one in the previous versions on Touch ID-enabled devices. This is apparently to make your iPhone or iPad more difficult to break into, allowing for one million possible combinations in IOS 9 rather than the 10,000 that four digits allow in IOS 8.

However, if a user selects 'Password Options' when setting up his/her Passcode there's an option to switch back to a 4-digit one, so the new extra security isn't forced on you.

iii. Better Battery life

The company mentioned the new Low Power mode which comes with iOS 9, but there's another great feature that will make your Iphone last longer. Your iPhone will now detect if it's face down on a table and as such won't turn the screen on, even when you get a notification.

iv Find my phone and find my friends feature

Although this is not a new feature, initially users have to download it in the App store. Now this comes fully incorporated in the IOS 9.

v. Faster photo selection

Selecting multiple pictures has improved much in iOS 9, as users will be able to slide their finger over multiple photos rather than tapping them.

vi. Side switch feature

In iOS 9 users can toggle the side switch on the iPhone to lock rotation rather than mute the phone. This option is already available for the iPad, but for some reason had not been enabled on the iPhone, but now it has been added in the IOS9.

vii. ICloud attachment

The ICloud Mail app in iOS 9 is being upgraded to allow users add attachments from iCloud Drive. Users just have to long press in the body of an email and you'll get an attachment option pop-up.

viii. ICloud Drive App

Managing your iCloud has gotten a lot easier, as a new iCloud Drive app has been added in iOS 9 that lets users access all of their stored iCloud files from one place.

ix. New Font introduction

The Company has dropped the previous Helvetica Nue font with the San Francisco font used by the Apple Watch in IOS9. It's a subtle difference, but great font observers will certainly notice the change.
