Facebook to introduce self-deleting photos on its Messenger app

Users of Facebook in some European countries have reported that a new feature has been introduced in the Company's Messenger platform which allows users to send photos that self destructs after an hour. This feature is similar to Snapchats main feature - self destruct photo or video after some time. Facebook has offered $3billion to acquire Snapchat some years back which the Company's CEO Evan Spiegel refused. We believe the Company is now ready to introduce its own self destruct feature.

According to Facebook

We’re excited to announce the latest in an engaging line of optional product features geared towards making Messenger the best way to communicate with the people that matter most,” wrote a Facebook spokeswoman in a statement.
Starting today, we’re conducting a small test in France of a feature that allows people to send messages that disappear an hour after they’re sent.
Disappearing messages gives people another fun option to choose from when they communicate on Messenger. We look forward to hearing people’s feedback as they give it a try.
