WhatsApp likely to release native Windows and Mac apps soon

Its no more news that WhatsApp can be used on our browsers, however, the company has taken a little step further by working on a native App for Windows and Mac.

A Twitter account by the name WABetaInfo who shared screenshots of WhatsApp translation website where users can see references to download links for Windows and Mac applications.

Tech enthusiasts are still wondering why the company would want to invest in developing native apps when it already has a web client that can be updated automatically anytime they want without the user having to download anything, easier to develop, and also support uploading files and desktop notifications in browsers like Chrome and Safari. The only reason Tech enthusiasts can think of is support for audio calls, which is presently not possible with the web client and can be achieved with the native app.

We will keep our fingers crossed are because we do not know how far the desktop apps are in terms of development for now. We will keep you updated
