Facebook Messenger update introduces the ability to send locations as messages

Great news for Facebook Messenger users as the Company has released a new update that allows users to send location as part of a conversation in the app. Now users can decide to explicitly send a map of their location or another particular place as a separate message.

This can be done by tapping the More icon or the location pin at the bottom of your screen. If you wish to tell a friend which hotel to meet you at, search for the hotel and send a map of where it is to your friend directly as a message. If you spouse wants to know your location, send a map of where you are to let him or her know how far away you are.

Facebook says with this new update you have full control over when and how you share your location information.

This update is available for IOS and Android for now, you can check your respective stores for the update.
