Facebook rumoured to be working on a human-powered virtual assistant

Social media giant Facebook has been rumoured to be working on its own virtual assistant that it will in-corporate with Messenger.

The virtual assistant code-named 'Moneypenny' by Facebook is rumoured to be powered by humans, distinct from popular virtual assistants like Blackberry's Assistant, Microsoft's Cortana and Apple's Siri according to rumours.

We are not yet clear on what kind of features Moneypenny will have, but it is rumoured that, it will allow users "to ask real people for help researching and ordering products and services, among other tasks."

Tech enthusiasts cited three sources briefed about this new service, and they all said that the new feature 'Moneypenny' is being tested internally by Facebook employees. The whole process was stated to work via Facebook's Messenger app.

Just another rumor to surface recently surrounding new projects that Facebook may be working on. However, with no official announcements or confirmations, the tech world will just have to wait and see if Moneypenny will end up being a real human-powered virtual assistant that Facebook releases.
