Facebook launches 'M' your personal assistant on Messenger

Social media giant Facebook has followed the likes of Google, Apple, Microsoft to release its own version of personal digital assistant called M. This personal assistant will be available in the Company's messenger app.

M completes tasks and finds information on a users behalf. It is powered by artificial intelligence that's trained and supervised by people according to Facebook. Unique in its own way when compared to other AI-based services in the market, M can actually complete tasks on a users behalf. It can help you get gifts delivered to your loved ones, purchase items, book restaurants, plan your travel arrangements, appointments and many more.

M virtually works like its competitors, like asking you it stuff, and it will answer. Just like others M can also plan things for you. However, it is capable of completing real life events too. Like helping to organize dinner parties to helping you track down an unusual pizza in New York, or even redecorating your office. M even calls your company and endure through the hold times and various automated messages you listen to before you can actually speak to a customer rep.

M is not yet available for all as It is only in use by a few hundred people in the San Francisco Bay Area in US. It may likely take a while before this new introduction will be available as its in the testing stage.
